You'll be there for me

I remember I use to be like you

When I was five I use to read just like you

When I was ten I was looking up to you

When I was twelve I saw you walk the stag for the first time

I remember the first time when you held my hand

I remember when my sisters used to work hard for us

I believe that yesterday was my over sight

I wish that I hadn't broken many promises

I remember you taking me somewhere exciting

I cannot remember our days together

I cannot remember when you use to be there for me

I want to remember you helping me

I want to remember the day you left for college

My parents remember how much I struggled in school

But I remember how hard it was to meet their expectations

I wish I couldn't remember all of our fights

I know that you look out for me

I remember that you'll be there for me.
