Young and Dumb

It’s safe to say that you are gone now.

The girl who favored the blue sky and the bright shining sun,

Now favors the big full moon and all of the surrounding stars

You never knew when people lied

Too trusting, too accepting

For what? People who would soon be a distant memory

You memorized people’s last names and birthdays

The world really tore you down, no wonder you faded away

Not afraid to care about the ones around you

Not wary of every boy who gives a hello and a warm smile

What would you know about love

Your biggest issue was getting to the bus on time

You dreamed of making beautiful dresses and seeing them displayed for the whole world to see

I’m not sure if you just died one day or grew up and saw the world for what it really is

But I do know that you’re gone for good, and you will be missed
