A Young Boy Who Learned to Love (Words)

Wed, 06/12/2013 - 17:09 -- XThom

When I was young man
I wanted to be like Mike
I never wanted to pick up a mic
but the words seemed to find me

It gave me peace of mind
To share a piece of my mind
Putting my thoughts on paper
just seemed so much safer

Whether I wanted to tell the world
Or just vent about some new girl
Writing became my outlet

I promised never to sell out
I write for the love of it
Not for awards
Not for other people

Don't get me wrong
I love any attention that my writing brings
But my focus is on the important things
Most of my poems will never be read
Some of my poems never leave my head
All of my poems were bled
Bled from my heart to my fingers to a pen
