Young Love Is True Love

"You're too young,

It won't ever work.

Don't waste your time,

He'll hold you back.

There's more important things you can become,

Focus on your schoolwork.

You've heard all the paradigms,

So listen to my almanac."

I just take a breath and smile,

For I know what I see;

The wedding bells and I dos,

Next babies inside picket fences.

I believe it will all be worthwhile,

And I think that you agree.

Because you and me are matching tattoos,

With no consequences.

But I can't help but listen to what rolls of the tongue,

Of those outsiders who judge with a smirk.

This journey sure will be a climb.

If I lose you my world would turn black,

And my heart would be wrung,

With sadness usurped.

In the silence of nighttime,

All I hear is others feedback.

But you pull me in closer and hold me awhile,

You say if it's meant to be then it will be,

You are my refuge.

I let you slowly take over all my senses.

We will make it work even if the distance between is more than a mile.

There is something real between you and me.

You tell me I'm the one you choose,

Your love calms my apprehensions.
