Young Man’s Spirit

He looks in the mirror and what does he see

A young man who's spirit is strong as can be

Without this inner strength he is but a shell

Void of emotion or feeling; a bottomless well.

This young mans spirit serves him always

In school, in training, even the worst days

It keeps him positive, it keeps him upbeat

An attitude so strong; he won't accept defeat.

Determined to be eternally the best

Second? He laughs, surely you jest

Earnestly he will accept the shame

He will right his mistakes to better his game.

The young mans spirit is hard and un yielding

It makes the man whom it is shielding

He that feels no pain shall make no gain

All the work put in shall forever be in vein.
