Young Poetry

I was a young preeten girl

emotional to say the least.

Middle school was a rough time

then one day I found poetry.

The emotions poems conveyed.

The images they projected.

The words flowed like a melody.

The life within the words I read.

I studied the words they wrote.

I practiced to rhyme like them.

I wrote mine out then changed them.

I stowed them for safe keeping.

They were never for the public

but to help define myself.

It was just the best outlet

for an emotional preeten.
