Younger Days

The summer breeze hits the trees way up high,
Reaching so far they could almost touch the sky.
Back then we were just kids laying in the grass,
Hoping with all our might the rain would pass.

Those were the days absolutely no judgment was gave,
And we swore that we'd be friends up until the grave.
When we were little our friendship was strong,
But now that were older everything feels so wrong.

Holding hands just meant that we were good friends,
Though now that were older it's not just pretend.
The feelings I have just won't go away,
Maybe it's because I want them to stay.

You are everything I always wanted,
That is why I'll never confront them.
