Your Castle

The castle you built
is crumbling down.
These sugarcoated walls
are not fortress enough.
The moat I built
with my bare hands
could never keep out
the intruders and the serpents.
I dug and dug
but you forgot to fill—
instead you used your own hands
to lower the bridge.
You were my knight,
but
only when Day herself crept away,
fearing the wave of oncoming battle.
Even the sun knew better than I.
