Your Colors

Orange, yellow, green, and blue
These are the colors that come to mind when I think of you
You are not simple, yet you are not complex
Somehow you have won my heart unlike all the rest

Orange is the color that was on the tree
The day I realized how much I need
See, one pretty autumn day is when it all started
Yet because of band, we soon parted
Yellow is the color that I think of because of brass
The instrumental section you play in our class
I know it is not quite a yellow, so this is weird
But honestly before you, at brass I never peered

Green is what I think of because of our first kiss
Something that was awful, and we should have missed
But you see it was winter and there was only white outside
But when you tried before it was green and to me you lied

And finally we get to the color blue
The color I think of when I miss you
For I have not known you much of my life
But without you, I would be full of strife
