Your Could Ruin Everything

You could ruin everything,

If you just said a few words,

And I could ruin everything,

If I said just a few more.

My mind is scattered,

With every word you say,

And every doubt I’ve ever had,

Becomes so amplified.

I feel so guilty, every time we talk,

And I’m not truly sure why.

It’s like I’ve committed a crime,

But no one can arrest me for it.

You just have that effect on me,

And I wish I knew what to do with you,

And I wish I knew how to stop feeling,

And I wish I knew how to stop caring.

And when you go, I’m not aware you’re gone,

But when you’re here, I can hardly tell, too.

You always have the choice of being in my life,

You just never seem to make up your mind.

Because it’s like you’re always gone,

You’re so rarely “here.” Barely ever here.

And whenever you’re gone, there’s a sensation.

A burning lack of desire for anything else.

I know and you know, that you have the power,

And you definitely know you can use it.

But if you use it, please pay mind,

Because I already know I’m your puppet.

Because if you wanted me to,

I could ruin everything,

If you just even asked me,

I would ruin everything just for you.
