Your Crinkly Smile

There was so much I could ask you grandma.

But my words stuck like glue.

We basically spoke two different languages.

Yet you undertood "hello, how are you, and most of all.. I love you."

You were unforgettable especially that crinkly smile of yours.

Which was so warm, it hit deep in my core.

Your "crinkly smile", what is that?

It held wrinkles and creases, an abundance of joy, never flat.

I didn't know you felt so weak.

You smiled with such vibrance and energy,

enough energy to pinch my cheek.

Oh grandma, theres so much to ask you, plenty to say.

When I see you, that probabaly won't be for a while...

but when I do, I hope you'll be wearing your crinkly smile.
