Your Departure
Within my soul live plenty sparks of fire.
You give a warmth so deep that flames arise,
No risk, no danger, so why not admire?
You change your mind. “Intense” no longer wise.
A fear my heat would scald you off your feet
This led to your departure far from me.
Adored “idea” of me being sweet,
Remember when I was your source of glee?
When did my passion cause my soul to fall?
Unfair of you to only favor one part,
Again, love me fully or not at all.
No doubt that fire creates a work of art.
No trace of hate is found within myself.
The scar will learn to heal with time itself.
