your enemy.

You hate this person.

You hate them, you swear

to me you do; that you have

no feelings for them.

Yet when I seem to

be absent in your mind

it’s because they have

taken my place.

You swore to me they

were your enemy, one of

the people you despised most

but your voice has a sense of

hesitation in it, like you don’t

mean the words that come from

your lips.

You were mine but they have

consumed you, taken you from

my love and made you theirs.

You were my one and they

are yours, I see that clearly

now.

You were never mine. You

always belonged to them.
