In Your Eyes

It's been forever,

Since we first came together,

On that midnight in December,

When the first snow began to fall.

But it's been forever,

In that time together,

That you opened my eyes,

To the world's beauty within.

And when I looked down at the frost,

Covering my shoes and yours,

I knew what you would bring,

My greatest wish come true.

Your hair shook as you leaned to kiss me,

And the snow gently fell on my cheek.

As I pulled away to look at you,

I saw it.

The change I wanted,

For the world,

And for me,

Is the change I wanted to see in everyone.

And that was true love.

Not the fake kind,

Or the money kind,

But that one of a kind.

Love is the change I want to see in the world.

Not hate.

Maybe one day we can change our fate,

And just love.

That's what I hope for everyday... love. Showing love to others makes life seem less tragic. We need to give more of it to bring peace to our world and future. Love the poem. God bless and keep writing on my friend:)!!!
