your eyes.

your eyes
chocolate brown -
like my favorite birthday cake.
i could lose myself - forever -
gazing into them
for eternity.
they have a certain sadness in them that i want to discover -
that i long to mend.
your eyes are imprinted onto what’s left of my terminally love-sick brain.
do your eyes see the love I give you through my pain -
the pain of knowing you don’t feel the same.
when I close mine i only see your eyes
a brown - haziness of my teenaged dreams.
i love you. and your eyes.
