Your Friendship

Today was harder than most week days

Though I cannot tell you why

My lack of sleep combined with school work

Made me want to cry

I expected you to hide from me

In my sad and fallen state

It seemed just too hard for you to bear

Too easy for you to hate

But by my side you did stay

Although a wreck I was

I wanted you to comfort me

As any good friend does

Comfort is an understatement

Of the care you showed toward me

And now I know that for true happiness

Your friendship is the key
