Your Hurting Host
Dear Anxiety,
You start early every day, and never ever go away
You make me shake, you make my head ache
You kill the fun, and make me want to run
From time with friends, I just want the day to end
I try and stay calm, but there's always a qualm
About what others think, even if their look is as quick as a blink
You make me want to cry, you'll never say goodbye
I want so badly to be free, but you're a programmed part of me
I try not to let others see, this dark side of me
I'm afraid of their thoughts, so I try not to get caught
Will they think I'm insane will they find my troubles a pain?
Or will they run, or just make fun?
Should I share this with the world, these are the thoughts that all get swirled
Around my head at night, to the point where they make my chest tight
I just want this to end, so then maybe I could mend
But for now I'll just push you down, and try my best not to drown
I know I'll hear from you again soon, and you're sure to make my life feel strewn
But until that time, I'll try and climb
Out of this hole you helped me dig, I don't even remember when it got this big
I'll try my best not to dwell, so for now I say farewell
Your hurting host,
Prairie
