Your Little Heart

My dearest How long until I see you again? I think that I see you every time that I go out on the town. While browsing for food in the grocery aisle. Or looking for that book in the bookstore that reminds me of our story. Just the other day, I thought I saw you in the park. Your dark, tousled hair. My fingers ran through it as our bodies undulated under the sheets. Afterward I lay on your chest as you kissed my forehead, tasting the sweat like seawater. Honestly, I don’t know. Perhaps it is just my heart’s longing. Thinking that I will see you just around every corner. But every time, you are not there. Like a ghost, you vanished. But still, there is that longing. Memories that haunt. Times that I can feel your touch. But it is only that…a memory. Perhaps one day we will meet. Embracing as I laugh at one of your silly jokes. Whispering those sweet nothings that make you blush. A secret known only to us. Always…Your Little Heart
