Your Loving Daughter

one last hug one last goodbye

she used to wipe each tear i cried

she packed my lunch we said amen

i will never see my mom again

it was a normal day, at least from the start

little did we know what would impart.

she said i’ll call you later, have a good day

i never knew those were the last words she would say

i love you, i replied

that was the day my mother died

they say there’s a reason for everything

but it will never take away death’s sting

100th floor is where she worked

she was the front desk clerk

she looked at the beautiful view

and saw a plane just flying through

I sat at lunch waiting for her call

right before the buildings would fall

I think of my mom twenty four seven

prayers go out to 9/11

everyday i visit her grave

trying to find the right words to say

im sorry mom i never said goodbye

i looked up to see an angel in the sky

My mom will never see me graduate

and in my heart all i feel is hate

Standing there in a crowd, i let go of the balloon

I love you mom, ill see you soon

And soon i will forgive the men who slaughter

I miss you mom,

your loving daughter
