You left me to chase the girl you believed was super cool.
Too bad you were wrong and she made you the fool.
Then you were desperate and went for the girl who was easy,
Only to be used and forever deemed sleazy.
Now you run back to me and claim I was always “the one”,
Thinking I’d take you back and we’d just skip into the sun.
You shouldn't have assumed that I’d be so quick to forget;
You should have thought twice before you did something you’d regret.
But it’s far too late, so quit trying to plead.
You’re not the only one who’s realized what they need.
You don’t deserve my love if you don’t know what it means,
And there’s still so much life to live since we’re just in our teens.
But now I must leave the boy who first left me,
In order for Him to lead me to the person I am meant to be.
It’s going to hurt, and I’ll probably cry,
But when things come to an end, we all must learn to say good-bye.
