In Your Own World
It’s an uncontrollable thing
To fully understand what it does to you is
Pretty Big…
It washes over you like a tidal wave
in your own little world
drowning you with nothing but darkness
and Loneliness
you walk and walk in your own world
in a confined hallway
getting smaller and smaller
the deeper you go
looking for a way out
looking for a light to lead you out
you try to catch the shadows around you
Hoping for them to lead you out
Hoping they would understand what things
go through your head
in this state
they try to talk to you
but you can never hear them
in your own little world
My heart aches
drained of all its life
struggling to beat
even though it’s damaged and hurt
it tries it’s hardest to keep my alive
sometimes I hope it would give up
give up finally
I’ve been living too long like this
and my heart knows it too
it’s made worthless attempts to keep me breathing
it’s been going on for too long
My rotting mind tells me
“Just die already, nobody’s ever gonna love you. No one needs you.”
maybe someday I’ll give in to it
but my heart yells at me
“DON’T GIVE UP!! There’s still hope for us.”
my heart has done too much for me
more than I could’ve asked for
more than I wanted
my mind drowns me
anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts
stepping on my heart
forcing it to quiet down
my heart cannot save me
from my mind
maybe someone else can
The one person that brightens your entire day
their beautiful smile brighter than the sun itself
THEY’RE THE WAY OUT
THEY’RE THE LIGHT YOU NEED
TO ESCAPE
out of this Eternal Darkness…
you’d think being in a state like this
you would never find anything
that would give you strength
to keep living on
the feeling when you see them
that feeling is completely unexplainable
it completely takes over you
every time you see them
you just can’t resist at smiling back
you hope one day they will see
what you struggle with
and stand by your side
and care for you
they’re the way out
of this little world of darkness
and loneliness
