Your Picture

A picture is worth a thousand words they said.

And that is why I could't hold yours;

because not only a thousand words, but memories too.

That face, that smile, I could hear your laugh;

how could anyone bare?

Our hearts and minds are trapped in cages for this reason.

We tell ourselves everyday it will get better.

And we move on with our lives, nonchalantly.

Until we stumble upon a picture.

We take a second to fully grasp the trauma our minds are reliving.

It's easy to set it aside.

But we can never forget.

A thousand memories that only we will understand.
