Your Punches

You say you will be there, but I don’t see you anymore.

Where did you go?

You say “I love you”, but you’re the one who breaks me.

You’re the reason i’m on my knees staring at the floor. Im staring at the puddle I made. The puddle of this water that runs down my cheeks.

Your the one who makes my vision fuzzy.

Alone, because i’ll never let me cry.

I just breath and hold it in,

but it has to release sometimes.

Was this your plan?

You leave bruises people can’t see.

You throw punches that make me unable to stand.

The punches you throw stick with me my whole life.

My emotions overwhelm me. Your words repeat in my head.

They play on loop. Just because you have never laid a hand on me doesn’t mean you haven’t broken me.

Physically isn’t the only way you can hurt someone.

Your punches are the words that you love to throw.
