Your Venom Runs Deep

Even through my altruistic love and complete devotion You managed to overcome humility and tear me to the ground You set a self-destructive lifestyle in motion And dragged many others down. You were trusted and loved by many Unconditionally cared for through it all Yet your endless manipulation and lies Brought about your conclusive downfall. The betrayal of our humane affections And the compassion we endlessly gave Has brought to you a darkened heart That will curse you ‘til the grave. The venom of deception has claimed you It courses through your veins It has turned your heart to bitter stone That is ignorant to life’s beautiful ways. You hiss as a cornered serpent And flash your hellish fangs You whip your tail in self-defense When, in love, I call your name. You have become an impious monster Possessed by the betrayal of all you held dear You surrendered your life of luxury For a life of misery, hatred, and fear. You have become an incarnate devil Wrought with the convolutions of deception As you pay dearly for your betrayal And rot in your transcendent coffin.
