Your Version of Love
How am I supposed to love you when you don’t know what love means?
Is love supposed to be filled with lust and desire, or care and compassion?
All I have ever known from you is your version of love
But what about how I view love?
Is wanting to not be dependent on you a bad thing?
You always seem to dictate my mood for the day
Manipulating how I feel comes natural to you doesn’t it?
When does it become okay to use me and disregard what I am and what I value?
I want to feel cherished, that I matter in this world
I want to feel like I have a purpose
I want to be happy for once
I can say I want to feel what true love is
But all I have ever known is your version of love
