Your Way

It binds.

It tells me I’m committing grammatical crimes

It makes my work seem shy.

It hides

What I want to say; what’s on my mind.

It wrenches my gut

Because in the trenches of my gut

I know it’s all wrong.

The stench is silicon.

To my own path, I’m drawn,

But I’m required to stay the course.

I’m required to take this course?

I’m required to write in a way that forces

me out of creativity?

It just doesn’t click with me.

It’s honestly sickening

Because I’ve always been taught to think critically,

Yet I’m being told to take everything way too literally.

Where’s the constructivism in that?
