In Your Web

Dangling from a web-- All tangled up-- You stick your fangs into my veins. My life drains out: An empty void. My heart still beats, Refusing to die inside of me. My yearning for you is my lifeline; What would my life be without it? What would I be without it? Without you? Venom poisoning my body Spreading like a disease Ravaging my senses and agonizing pain My heart is ripped out: A bleeding hole. And it still beats Refusing to die inside of me. My yearning for you is my anchor What would I be without it? What would I do without you? With you? Spazzing uncontrollably Jerking unwittingly Senses dying off Brain shutting down My heartless body still lives: A nearly bloodless shell. And still it beats Refusing to die inside of me. My desire for you is like a livewire What could I do to ease the pain? What could I do to make it go away? Could I erase it all? Eyelids closing one last time Breath sputtering out once more The last of my blood draining out Drop, drop...drip It's gone, it's gone--all of it. My bloodless body still lives: A useless puppet. And still it thrives because of my heart, Refusing to die out of love for you. My longing for you was the dagger to my heart Why did it have to be this way? Why did it have to hurt this way? Will I ever get you? I loved you to death You were the death of me Right when you sank your loveliest fangs into me. I let you because I loved you But now there is nothing left. My aching, longing for you took away my last breath. Inadvertantly, the blade was plunged into my heart just to wrench it out. Like a spider caught in your luscious web, I ached, bled, and died-- just for a loving embrace, a look in your eyes, all to hold you in my arms. If only it didn't have to hurt; If only it didn't have to be so hard. Will you ever hold me? Will you ever touch me? Or am I just dreaming?
