Your Words

Your words, were like the wind.
They could feel cold & biting, or soft &soothing.
Like a warm breeze on my skin.

Your words would lull me to sleep.
They would make me feel like you could protect me and I was safe.
Yet they made me feel so weak.

Your words made me believe I needed you and that you needed me.
But you really didnt, did you?
Why didn't I realize? Why couldn't i see?

Your words. That's why. They were blinding.
Was it your fault for saying it? Or mine for being so naive?
It was because during my time of darkness, you were the star, shining.

Your words had left me broken, because you were my best friend.
Although it was for the better, I've changed because of you.
Because even if you feel weak and broken, it doesnt mean the end.
