you're an addiction and in not ready to take on the withdrawals

Before I started smoking

I used to love the way you smelled
I loved the earthy scent
That littered your cloths
That I'd keep close to my face
Before bed
Every Night
Every time I held you close I could feel
That same aroma wrapping around me
Keeping me safe
I never wanted to let go.
When That first cigarette
Took the breath from my body
On impulse looked around me and was strangely
Surprised you weren't there
And that's when I realized that
You were so similar to that
Stick of paper death in my hands
You came and touched my lips so quickly
And left me lightheaded
And chased away all the anxiety and overthinking and sadness
That filled all of the cavities inside me
And made me feel so
So
Wonderful
But you were so short lived
And it seemed mere minutes after you left
The world seemed worse than when you
Were here
And I kept coming back for more and more and more only to realize that
I was killing myself
My letting you in.
You are an addiction to say the least
And I'm not ready for
Withdrawals
