You're All I Need

If I was stranded on an island with nothing but the sand/the only thing I would need is my writing book in my hand /I would write about the ocean, seashells and sun with such a shine/that if you stare too long you go into a daze, get sunburn and might go blind./I would send a note for help that would only reach the starfish and hermit crab/it will be worth the try, oh no dont pick at the sunburn scab/Maybe the only thing I should have brought was sunscreen./I would write about how was dancing among giant turtles and using sonar with a whale /Only that is nothing but a dream because I can not swim well./Maybe the only thing I should have brought was a boat?/I will explore the trees and write about eating the fruit I find /And then write about how I am slowly losing my mind./But then I remember I have my writing book/and all the bad thoughts turn into verses, lines and hooks /I will write about how the sand makes my toes feel walking along the shoreline /I will write about this experience and how I spent most of my time,/just writing and writing about all the scenery /How did I get here in the first place, what is my real pupose?/And then I remember that writing keeps me sane, calm and still/Then I also remember, I didnt even bring a pencil....
