You're My Can't

Figuring out my feelings for you

is a long process

and I'm not sure when it will end.

but I wish it could be more fun

then waiting for you to respond with

more than yeah, me too

and using coded messages

to check if the coast is clear.

I guess it's true what they say about

how we want what we can't have

and I definitely can't have you.

so maybe I want you to stop

our little merry-go-round

but I had to grow up so

young and with you I feel

like I don't have to do life

the way everyone tells me to.

You say you want to quit

your demons and I'd love to help

but I worry my demons are you.

I think the same thing when I don't understand my donkey, it's a lack of communication because my donkey didn't get away.
