You're My Number One

You fell in love, before even laying eyes upon me

It was a certain kind of love

A kind of love that makes me feel protected and free

Thanks to this love I know I will always rise above

You have taught me so much

From the day I was born, until now and forever more

I will never forget your gentle touch

For you always made sure I had the clothes that I wore

Always caring and always motivating

You helped me to succeed

It's sad to say that I've grown so much, soon I will be graduating

As much as I would love to stay, my life must proceed

I will always cherish what you have done

Forgetting you will never occur

For you are my number one

And you will never be a blur

You raised me and made me who I am

You taught me right from wrong

For I was your little lamb

And I have been all along
