You're Sinking
I don't think you're sinking
but you aren't free
The waves still rock your head ,and burn your eyes, and tongue.
You are getting air
but you won't hold your breath
Won't bear the sting in your lungs and heart long enough to set yourself free
His hands on your legs are smooth like barbs but piercing if you pull away.
You won't survive if you stay
But I can't be the one to tell you that you'll drown
I can't ask you to hold your breath and cry
You must do it yourself
and I don't know how to help
I won't be another shackle though
I won't grab onto you too
So I'll slowly float on my own
Even if I sink too
I won't grab you
