You're Unaware

A man was shot yesterday You never heard A child was killed by a car You never heard An old man and his wife were found dead in their home You never knew Our lives are seperated by ourselves Check my phone, send this email, pay this bill By the time we find out, The news is old and your condolences are no longer accepted. A christmas card A box of chocolates All fine but not as effective as checking up on someone A man wasn't shot A child wasn't hit by a car An old man and his wife weren't found But they may as well have been because life would have carried on anyway.
