Youth Misunderstood

Loud, Ghetto, Ratchet All words they use to describe US young blacks THEY, being people who we call haters But yet asks us for these favors Proud, Powerful, and Strong All words we should be called But we’re just misunderstood, that’s all They look at us and see all the negativity, but if they look inside, they’ll understand our creativity We make mistakes but yet we get torn right back down Hold each other up and make sure we don’t fall to the ground Young people Stand up Tired of being misunderstood Use your voice and be heard Instead of being misjudged Don’t just follow what you perceive Be you and soon you will achieve We are who we are And proud to be So you think you know the real But you have no clue on how we deal You see our image, but don’t know our story You only see what you want to see It’s ok, because we know who we are We’re leaders Leaders of TODAY
