Youth Vioence
SHOOTINGS! KILLINGS! STABBINGS!
Is the headlines news, why so many people dying for no clue?
Our young people killing out on the streets
I see now that we’re forgetting our black leaders’ pleas.
Manipulation, Bullying, Segregation, and Abuse,
Is this why our kids are losing motivation, too.
Dropping out of school and selling drugs
Please let us not give up hope on the ones we love.
Tell me, is this the end coming so soon? Or am I just seeing the world for what is it?
Tell me now, because I’m asking you! Is this the end of our dreams too?
When is the violence going to end?
Oh, wait I forgot, we don’t know where it begins.
Stop the violence events, are they helping?
Because I see no change, but much room for improving.
Love, education, family and more
Children need this to stay ashore
But, instead it’s tearing us down to no avail
Communication stops, and violent altercation begin.
Kids giving up because mothers and fathers are not there,
Is that their reason for another friend dead?
Women abused and used as toys, I see why girls want to be boys
Parents fighting in front of the child
Brothers and sisters are pushing each other around.
Is that why we turn to killing?
To break another family, give them no ending.
Fight the Power, Peace, and Unity
What ever happened to watching my back?
Fight for what is right, instead of what is whack?
Here one day, but gone the next,
It is not worth the pain and distress.
Stop hating one another we are brothers and sisters.
Violence... is it worth it?
So many are dying now and again
The pain and sorrow will it ever end
All these stabbings and shootings, I bet you have no shame.
We don’t fear anything but a child with a gun
Already waiting to end a life that has hardly begun.
How many more young, will suffer and die, never to grow old, love, and cry.
His son and their daughter died untimely deaths,
Bringing parents and grandparents to tears and with scars to their chest
Burying a child is not a thing of the past.
Just ask the parents of children already laid to rest.
Stop the violence, put down the weapons.
Life is too short to take for granted.
Here one day, but gone the next,
It is worth the pains and distress.
Guns, knives, and punches too, are they worth a young one gone to soon?
Hey You
Who are you to take a life?
When you are not the one to pay the price,
That life you took will be missed
Death came to soon for that aspiring child
The one with so many big dreams that they weighed him down.
Did you think about that?
Or is it some sick joke that made you smile?
So when I look around what I chose to see,
Is improvement needed because of violence on the streets
But at the end of the day, I cannot lie, I still have HOPE…. And I will not let it die.
