Youth Wake up

To all my peers I need for you to start opening your ears Watch out for what you hear With having today’s rappers and singers be the ones we look up to and idolize We need to stop being blind look at the signs open our eyes and realize That these aren’t the ones we need to be looking up to Mimicking what they do We have become blind We have subjected our minds to the Ones walkin around with their heels too high or pants below their behinds With the clothes being too much to describe We know almost every word to our favorite selections It’s pushing us into the wrong directions I’m seeing kids younger than me with tats up to their neck No hesitation just imitations what’s wrong with my generation We’ve gotten so caught up in the world being of the world when Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. We have been subjected to so much Having young girls think what beauty they have isn’t enough Low self esteem because they can’t look like who they see on the screen There beauty is not enough but what does beauty even mean? Beauty now days are getting the approval of our society Being basic an looking like the majority But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." 1 Samuel Chapter 16 verse 7 Cause we don’t realize this won’t matter when we reach the gates of heaven We’re so caught up with whats goin on today Caught up in the music when we listen to stuff not even knowing what they say Like this song from Kanye called Mercy I was into it when it first came out Had to look at the lyrics to see what it was about “Well! It is a weeping and a moaning and a gnashing of teeth It is a weeping and a mourning and a gnashing of teeth When it comes to my sound, which is da champion sound, believe!” “And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” Mathew 13:42 Who are we subjecting our minds to? The sound of a champion being mourning and weeping and gnashing of teeth But don’t get me wrong Cause its not with all songs But that shouldn’t even matter Rather than letting it be all about him We give all our attention to them Forgetting the one who created heaven and earth The one that should be put 1st We have gotten it all backwards we can recite the lyrics of any song But do we know our 10 commandments Can you name at least name 7 I know I’m guilty of the crime Can’t recite the 10 commandment but we know Nicki meek and Weezy’s rhyme “We can pull up to the scene with our ceilings missing” “Riden around and getting it” Or “wake up in a new bugotti “ “When I bought the Rolls Royce they thought it was leased Then I bought that new Ferrari, hater rest in peace” We need to wake up youth Don’t become victimized to society’s lies And how they try to sugar coat there rhymes Add a beat and its ok trying to mask what they say Tryna hide the true meanings Do you see what I’m seeing? Understand that god is coming soon And it’s up to you Are you gonna follow evil Or stand and wait with your other brothers and sisters In front of the great gate Who’s other side beholds whats so great But only you can determine fate Youth wake up
