You've Changed

Boys have changed a lot since we were kids.

Boys and girls cold just be friends and that was that.

But as we've grown older, it seems the cooties game grew into sick mind games.

As we grew older, suddenly boys couldn't have any "ugly girl friends,"

aren't you gonna check for your ugly guy friends?

They aren't your girlfriend, they're just your friend,

that happens to be a girl.

I didn't know the requirement to be someone's friend was to be attractive.

Middle school was when you could see the difference of intentions between a boy towards a girl,

whether they found them attractive or not.

Why, here's a funny idea, stop viewing every girl as your future girlfriend,

and try looking at them as an acquaintance or human and not a walking tinder swipe.

Why are girls suddenly dismissed as a dating prospect before a friend?

Why did boys and girls have to be divided in this way?
