Zombie


You are dead but you are acting alive

Eating brains but not gaining knowledge

So how are you expected to survive?

 

Do you really think the truth is sublime?

How are you expected to go to college?

You are dead but you are acting alive

 

True love is something you have been deprived

A lone life is what you will acknowledge

So how are you expected to survive?

 

The meaning of your words you can't derive

It's okay to hide what is inside

You are dead but you are acting alive

 

Ignore the world and let ignorance thrive

Otherwise your brain, your thoughts, will be fried

So how are you expected to survive?

 

Grab routine's wheel, take it for a test drive

Maybe you will find out there's an upside

To being dead and just acting alive

Perhaps this is the way we all survive?
