“The Seasons”
My life is paradoxical
It consists of orders and ambiguity
My mind and ambition are laser-focused
My presence and heart reside sporadically
I am an amiable soul that channels connectivity and presence
I have experienced lifetimes
Here or there, I am living in my purpose
My thoughts reside over the blue bodies of water and around the block
My surroundings alter, but my identity remains
I am a black girl
Born in the south with no hometown
I have always wondered how it feels to truly belong to a place
No place to say I was born and raised
Yet I proclaim belonging wherever I lay my head
I desire to heal, I am a healer
I am the marginalized hearts and minds
Before and after me, and despite differences
I see myself in them
From the city to the country
From the U.S. to overseas, people need healers
Healers need people
I am a sense of solace
I am disconnected to norms, yet conscious of my surroundings
My heart will always radiate warmth
My passion is fire
It is the igniter of change
I want to know how everything works in harmony
Through uncertainty, to clarity
Through being a lonely yet gravitational soul
I am the world and its people culminated into one
A girl from the South that has been seasoned by the world
I am here for a greater cause
The seasons of life
Autumn
