“Civilized”

I hate it when “they” are like that

Oh, but I don’t hate you

Because you’re not like “them”

You’re more civilized

Do you know how stupid that sounds?

But you still have the nerve to say you’re not racist?

What do you mean by “them”?

You mean, the people who you’ve literally never talked to?

Never once sat down with them,

Had a conversation,

Or gotten to know them?

Only because they seem un-civilized?

What the hell do you know about being civilized?

You see people over there, just laughing, talking, being human, but because they’re a little bit louder or more flamboyant than you’d like, suddenly they’re un-civilized?

Meanwhile, I’m standing here talking to a person who literally has no manners, is not polite at all, but you consider yourself civilized just because of the color of your skin.

Oh, I’m sorry, was I little un-civilized there?

Oh, well, please continue with your non-racist comments.

So, you were saying something about Mexicans?
