“Eternity's End”

My lover and I went to the beach to have fun.

We dipped into the ocean to cool off from the blistering sun.

We swam in the ocean until the beginning of dawn,

When a surprise wave hit us, then my lover was gone.

I searched and searched for her without a moment’s pause.

I looked towards the endless sea and the beach to see where she was,

Then through the murky beams and blue-green sea life,

I saw her spinning towards the moonlight.

I pull her in, she wasn't breathing.

Her eyes were wide, my heart was quickly beating.

I gave her mouth to mouth to bring life back into her.

She still wasn’t moving and my fears begin to make me shiver.

I held her hand and ask her to pull through,

Then a voice unknown said "She probably can't hear you".

For me to take her place is what I pray.

For me to die instead of her on that terrible day.

If love is eternal, then eternity’s done.

Her spirit has left this world and her love is gone.
