“Fragments”

Fragments of my heart strewn across a barren floor Desolate of compassion. Void, bitter, full of contempt towards the betrayer of my Soul. A cunning, yet devious figure that masquerades behind A chameleon façade Attempting to disguise their tracks. What one does not know will not hurt them so people Say, This I know to be false because of the numerous times You stabbed me in the back With a total disregard for the intimate feelings that deeply penetrate my soul. My body is limp with sadness Like the boughs of a weeping willow tree that stands- Erected in a sea of misery; Hollowed out within its branches are crevices, There lies within a crown of thorns and but a single rose a lasting embalmment of forbidden love. Two hearts never destined to be shattered for the remainder of perpetuity.

RebelPoet

A small town New England poet from CT. I like figuring out ways to make words work. Suppose you could call me a Rebel Poet. I write about your standard themes in different ways. I also write about experiences, changes, etc. I'd like it if you'd read what I post and leave constructive criticism. I don't consider debates constructive or conducive to writing, though.
