“Memories of our lives, of
“Memories of our lives, of our works and our deeds will continue in others,”
Rosa Parks said to her sisters and brothers.
They were one all united in a single cause,
A movement for equality, equal rules, equal laws.
“I will not leave my seat, just because of my race”
I will stand against racism, and fight it face to face.
The passion burns deep, and the unity strong,
Until we are equal as God intended all along
We will host sit-ins, and peacefully march,
So we can drink from the same fountain whenever we’re parched.
It is not till our children can attended the same school,
Any race, any color, and genetic pool.
This is our goal and we’ve finally achieved it.
Because of so many people who believed it
