“Only a Friend Instead”
Her pink lips,
I dare not kiss.
Oh, I wish I could go back in time,
and have me be yours and you be mine.
The feeling of happiness and delight when I'm around this girl.
The feeling of sadness and despair, knowing I can't be with her.
She tells me I'm a nice and awesome guy.
She tells me I have a wonder heart inside.
She said any girl would lucky to be mine,
But I only have her in mind.
Once I told her how I feel;
How I feel deeply in love when she’s near.
She said I'm a wonderful guy,
But she has another man in her life.
I told her I respect that fact,
And I understand,
And I will only be her friend,
But I want to be something else instead.
