“she”

she arrived

just imagine it as i say

no time to picture away—time—place—perfect.

whereupon she came, i need, i wish, i was given.

fabulous of love’s function

walking the breathing wants to hide

motionless but pronounced movement

for better, no longering worse

she arrived as a lining

silver, gold, black, green, blue the lining showed through

bandaged my wings, eased wounds

colored over scars

her arrival brought certain hope

luck to have her, rise not fall

the month of May opens this cage

with her covering on my wings

i will set free
