“Till I return from the sadness to my country”

My lovely country was stripped away from me Her cold winters and hot summers are with me no more The music, the laughter make no sound The pity and pain cluster at my heart remembering the end point Flying away Landing softly like a snowflake upon the new ground Unknown in my former life Now being surrounded by tall buildings and new faces So foreign to the eyes Nothing like my beloved country Her beauty can not be compared to this new place, That can not bring me any comfort: The comfort of a wide open meadow Of the morning sun rising between the clouds The cattle grazing upon the fresh morning grass Farmers and dogs roaming the wide hills Peacefully taking care of their flock This new place is nothing like my home People here hurry upon their way From here to there they disappear among the cars Forever to be unseen No familiar smile I see No familiar “good morning” or “afternoon” said Only the busy hustle of the city can be heard No peaceful sounds heard at night Just garbage trucks and the sirens of ambulances Woken up every moment Getting no rest for the noise is so restless My home, somewhere beyond the horizon Alone and peaceful How I miss those quiet nights Those lovely mornings The sweet faces every day saying good morning Never vanishing in the distance This new place is nothing like my home One day I shall return She will welcome me with open arms Singing pleasantly of her child's return Proud of one of her own that found her home After years of flight among unfamiliar places Done casting an unhappy feeling upon the earth When I return she will see me all grown up Ready for a new life I will come and remember those days of happiness I spend upon the old home Cuddling in her arms over flown with roses When I return to the familiar face I dream about I will see my family again But for these empty days Till the time comes for me to fly away again I will keep the happy times in my heart Her love in everything I do will reflect For these day I will rest and lay my head Weeping upon the sorrow of fear That had been scared with a thousand arrows through my heart Keeping my culture and sharing it with those I love Passing it on to ones born from me Until the day I return To lay peacefully upon my countries land again
