Warrior

May 10, 2019

I can hear the rain falling

And the waves crashing

The lighting thrashing

The wind rasping

But all I can do is dance

With a smile on my face

Cause even though the sky’s are gray

And I’m soaking wet in the wind and rain

I live to see yet another beautiful day

Cause everywhere you look

There’s something that’ll make you smile

And it will be worth your while

It’s time to enjoy the simple things

Like when it rains you can finally breathe

Or how you’re staring out at sea

And every rain drop falling on your skin

Though it can seem overwhelming

Just take a breath in

Take it all in

Seize the moment you’re in

Slowly

I know it seems a little weird

Let your mind slow down its pace

Just sit there and think in your thinking space

Not the horrible mean things about yourself

But think of how you’re doing well

Think about how the person who wrote this wrote this for you

To calm you down

To help you through

She is listening to you

Helping you through

Is excepting you

For you

Whomever you may be

I choose to see the good in you and me

To see how easily you can be free

Free from yourself

Free from what others think

But for you to do that you need to stay here with me

The scratches on your thighs and arms

Those will one day be battle scars

Wear them with pride

You are a warrior of your own kind
