Grasping for Air

October 8, 2014
You are my back bone
 My breaking point
along with being the best part of me
My best friend
the one I run to for advice
the one that listens to my endless stories
My endless problems
never once interrupts me
 Never once do you complain
but instead you look at me with pride
The kind of pride that takes over your face with the biggest grin
 You are my #1 supporter
You are my absolute happiness
The one person who aggravates me the most
You are my first love
The kind of love that fills you with joy
makes your surroundings feel perfect
even when everything around you really isn't perfect at all
One night you realized that all of your problems started drowning you
Drowning you to the point of no longer wanting wanting to swim for another breath
So instead of swimming
you decided that you no longer wanted to gasp for breath
Just like that
Waking up to a call I was hoping was from you
But instead it was from your mother
Crying and yelling
telling me they found you blue, on your bathroom floor
It tears me into pieces
Knowing that I couldn't even figure it out
I was so focused on my problems I forgot to remember that you had problems of your own
Just like that
My world crumbled like a peace of paper
You're no longer here
You're no longer here physically but you're still my backbone
My breaking point
 the best part of me
my best friend
my #1 supporter
my absolute happiness
my first love
You're no longer here physically
but you will always be in my heart.
So I hope you never again have to grasp for another breath just make it through the day
