The Gold Medallion

February 23, 2017

The Gold Medallion you wore

big, shiny, and you

You wore it everyday

Jesus in middle to assure a long life of happiness

I remember our last day together

How I felt you right next to me even though you were laying down

How tired you looked

Then you just left

It was in that moment I realized I didn't lose you the day you died

I lost you the day you had forgotten my name

My face

I didn't lose you when you took your last breathe

I lost you when you looked at me as if I was a stranger

I wish I could turn back time and save you

Save you from the prescription with your name on it

Filled with chemicals

I blame them

The medicines that were suppose to keep you here with us

The tests that were almost postive you were ok

The doctors who said you were fine

I knew you weren't

The look you gave me everytime I said hello

When you said you were ok

It was a silent cry for help

I should've known

I should've been by your side everyday

I hoped for the best but only the worst came

I miss you so much
